Make up - foundation tips

Once you have your skincare routine that works for you, your make up will go on better!  Always cleanse tone & moisturise before putting make up - moisturiser will act as a barrier.

Always prime your skin using a primer! primer will tighten the pores & smooth out your skin. - if you have oily skin opt for a matte primer this will take away any shine you have on your skin.

Foundation - always check the colour on your jaw line! never your hand.  do your research colour swatches, test it out in store. Foundation is meant to blend in the skin rather than giving you a 'tanned' look.

Foundation for skin types!

Oily skin opt for a matte foundation & set it with a matte powder & if your prone to breakouts then look for something that is Anti - comedogenic

Combination - if it's oily tzone & dry cheeks for example you might want to use matte products in the oily tzone only & not power the dry areas - powder can settle in the creases - dry skin always have a few fine lines.

Dry skin - liquid foundation is best. You can skip the powder if you want to depending on how dry your skin - I find it makes my skin abit drier.

Undertones for foundation
Easy way I find is if you look at the inside of your wrist & look at your veins -

Blue/purple - cool

Yellow  - warm

Skin types!

Having trouble finding products for your skin, ever wonder why your breaking out! here's a few tips for skin types.

Normal - looks good in colour, no imperfections, breakouts/ scars, not dry, not oily.

Dry skin - feels abit like sandpaper, a few breakouts, flakiness & dryness.

Oily skin - *TOP TIP* get some toilet roll & stick it on your skin - if it's sticks, you got oily skin. Oily skin tends to look oily, with a lot of breakouts.

Combination - yes people can have combination skin & this is the trickiest skin type. You can have a oily t- zone & dry cheeks - if this is the case you will need to target the t-zone with oily skin care & the same with dry cheeks.

Normal skin can get away with anything! but it doesn't mean you should skip cleanse, tone & moisturising!

Dry skin is abit tricky if you don't know your stuff! you will need to keep up with your routine! Avoid anything with SLS (sodium laureth sulfate) drying ingredient which is in shampoos, body washes, and even facial washes! Go for a milk/cream cleaner don't forget to tone, toner restores the ph level & gets rid of the cleanser residue! always moisturise.

After cleansing exfoliate your skin once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells!
Coconut oil is amazing for dry skin also honey on your face as a mask is also amazing with it being anti - inflammatory & moisturising. You can add a night serum on your evening routine.

Oily skin cleanse tone & moisturise - oil free moisturiser is a must!
A weekly warming mask will help to draw out the blackheads, use a spot treatment directly on the spots. essential oils in the bath will help if you have back acne.
